A week or so ago there was a post on Milk Boys about the emergence of a new breed of blog sites. see http://blog.milkboys.org/article/blog-news-201002/, whilst I do not believe that this was in any way aimed at myself, there is certain practices that I may or may not include in my site.

I wanted to reply to this straight away but haven’t had the time until today to put my point across.  First off Milk Boys is entitiled to their opinion and in no way is this aimed at flaming, it is just my side of the story, feel free to comment

First off, a little about the pictures I use on my site, I will only ever use pictures that I personally like, I source my pictures from other sites, newsgroups, other blogs, paysites etc. Whenever I find one that I like I will either save for later upload or upload to my blog straight away. I do not think, oh, I need to advertise today so let me go to www.whateverthesite and get a picture to earn a few $.  I enjoy porn as much as the next person and if there is someone else out there with similar taste to me then they should love my blog. If I have found something of interest on a pay site then why should I not give them credit for it? Also, if someone likes the “free” advertisement for say Doggy Boys then why should I not take a cut of the membership fee, or should the person who owns the paysite make all of the profit? If you signed up to a site and it cost $40 to do it through my referral link or $30 if you went direct then you could have a different argument. The truth is though that if you sign up it doesn’t cost you any different.

I have seen sites where they show really cute boys and say “see more of me at xxx site” and when you sign up they are all fat pigs. On some of my posts I will say something like “See similar at xxx site” but in no way do I imply that this picture if from that site unless I 100% know it is. If I have implied that on any of my posts then please let me know and I will amend or remove it.

In terms of revenue to cover fees etc, well, if anyone says that is why they do that then they are either being ripped off by their host or just not good with money. This blog is not on a free host but doesn’t cost me a significant amount of $ to keep running, I’d say $50 a month maximum and that is with hosting a couple of other personal sites. This week I have earned approximately $100 from signups, by the time I pay the (stupidly high) bank fees to convert them in to £’s there really isnt much left, I have also joined a couple of sites to give my readers more “interesting” pictures from the models I like. I will be totally honest with you all, I am not running at a loss with this blog, but I am not making much beyond covering costs of hosting and the occassional joining of sites.

Now, this is possibly where we will get a little controversial, but the use of pictures with a link to an unrelated paysite when you click on it. Yes, this is to show off other sites and yes, I would love you to sign up to them. In some ways you could look at it as a thanks. There is one sight on here that I link to that costs you $1 to sign up, IF you sign up then I get $45. I really dont know how the owners can afford to do that, but if that is what they are offering and it costs my lovely readers a mere $1 then who really loses? There is a status bar at the bottom of most browsers which will show what it is going to open if you click the link, it usually will give you a clue

I love my readers, I love comments, I love seeing that I have had 150,000 visitors to my blog, it makes me happy, if just a few people have been turned on by the pics on my site then it is worthwhile, if you like my site then tell me, if you hate it then tell me. I will never, ever, make everyone happy but I can at least try.

Please dont shoot me for making a few $ either, I’m not charging you anything to visit my blog, but if as a result of a cute boy on here you sign up to a site then why shouldnt I get a cut?
